The Assistant Production Manager leads production operations of automotive starters, generators, and related components in Johor plant. Focus on executing production plans, optimizing manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement under IATF 16949 standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Execution: Develop weekly/monthly production schedules based on sales orders and capacity analysis, achieving on-time delivery rate for automotive components.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor quality standards, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions to minimize defects and maintain product quality.
- Team Supervision: Manage and support production team members, provide training, conduct cross-skilling programs, assign tasks, and foster a productive and positive work environment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, address potential hazards, and conduct regular safety briefings.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased efficiency (e.g., eliminate bottlenecks in stator winding and rotor assembly processes, aiming for UPH improvement).
- Inventory and Resource Management: Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely material supply and prevent production delays. Track material usage and manage equipment maintenance to avoid production disruptions.
- Reporting: Use ERP systems to prepare weekly/monthly production reports and document activities to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive electronics, with knowledge of starters and generators preferred.
- Experience in production management and HMLV production is advantageous.
- Proficiency in IATF 16949 standards and equipment troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual in English & Chinese for cross-department coordination.
