Job Description:
Provide assistance to lead special, investigative and/or confidential reviews at the request of the Governance & Audit Committee (GAC), Senior Management and/or complaints formally received through the whistleblowing channel, and report on findings/opinions and, where appropriate, any recommendations for improvement. Expected to oversee multiple assignments simultaneously.
Provide assistance and guidance to subordinates in relation to the assigned investigations and coordinate its activities as needed.
Ensure that the investigation work is of the highest standards, the results of the investigation are appropriately profiled and effectively communicated with the clients and Head, GFCRM as well as the Chief Integrity & Assurance Officer (CIAO) verbally and by way of reports.
Ensure effective and timely closure of all investigations and re-assess Management responses to GFCRM’s recommendations, where applicable, for effective and timely implementation of agreed action plan.
Work closely with Industrial Relations (IR) in verification of evidence data and participate in Disciplinary Inquiry (DI) due processes. Must be prepared to attend proceedings if the need arises.
Ensure that all approved work programs are uploaded into online working paper (TeamMate+, etc.) as guidelines for execution.
Assist in undertaking all necessary ad-hoc and periodical reporting relating to GFCRM work including investigation status updates and results of investigation requiring further profiling to the CIAO and relevant Business Units/Operations Management.
Assist in the development and maintenance of fraud/wrongdoing detection system that includes reporting, data mining, trend analysis and on-going risk assessment.
Facilitate to implement a culture of integrity throughout the Group by developing and implementing training and communication programs to ensure Group employees understand the epitome of integrity.
Work in close liaison with GCA, Group Compliance (GCO) and Group Risk Management (GRM) so that there is no overlap or duplication of functions and responsibilities in managing fraud/wrongdoing risks and controls.
Assist in ensuring that all Plans and Programs are executed in a timely manner.
Maintain good and effective relationship and liaison with clients, external auditors and other stakeholders to keep updated with developments in the fraud/wrongdoing and ethics based portfolio and leverage on each other for an effective and efficient review effort, amongst others.
Support the Head, GFCRM to administer GFCRM's human capital development and resource requirements determined or agreed by CIAO for the assigned team including, among others, performance evaluation, developmental needs and succession planning, to ensure continuity, consistency and enhancement of the GFCRM functions of the assigned portfolio and performance.
Undertake continuous professional development so as to contribute towards enhancement of GFCRM methodologies and global best practices. This includes observing good practices and accepted or applicable standards.
Enhance the GCA's practices within the GFCRM portfolio to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness of the team's functions through continuous improvements aligned to the overall department’s strategy and directives.
Keep abreast of updates on fraud/wrongdoing new initiatives to ensure the Group’s systems and procedures in place to prevent, detect and respond to fraud remain relevant and up-to-date.
