Job Description

Turner and Townsend are seeking a Quality Field Manager to be in the field based in Taiwan. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality control efforts for the high voltage substation project, ensuring all activities adhere to company and project quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices . This role is to ensure all quality control tasks are carried out, documenting the construction process and coordinate inspections required on the project.

  • Prepare, implement and update the Site Project Quality Plans.
  • Ensure all quality records and requirements are identified, collected, and reviewed for compliance, accuracy and are addressed.
  • Ensure project stakeholders are informed about site quality issues and progress.
  • Respond promptly to requests, communicate and liaise with the project management team.
  • Review construction work procedures and method statements for compliance with company and contract requirements.
  • Review and monitor the related Inspection and Test Plan for the site activities, to ensure site activities are properly coordinated and participate in site inspections and testing.
  • Ensure materials meet project standards, coordinate with logistics for claims, and inform the project management team for quality issues.
  • Oversee site quality activities, coordinate with stakeholders, prepare reports, conduct training, manage deviations, and participate in audits and reviews.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree qualifications in project management, construction management, civil engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, or similar function. Built up working experience can be considered.
  • Experience in Quality management, Quality assurance & control
  • Experience in construction and commissioning areas (materials, methods, and techniques)
  • Experience in development and implementation of Site Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plans related to high voltage substation projects
  • Knowledge of national safety and quality laws
  • Able to work effectively within a team and have collaborative mindset
  • Organizational skills and an eye for detail
  • Knowledge in turnkey projects development and interfaces
  • Knowledge and rigor in the documentation process (documents and records control)
  • Proficient with MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Mandarin.
  • Be based in Taiwan in the field directly at the project site.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience with high voltage substation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team.
  • Strong leadership, communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Computer/IT knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project tool, Conference call and Internet skills.
