Job description

If you are an Engineering professional looking to advance to a lead role, Emerson offers an excellent opportunity!

As a Senior Instrumentation Engineer, you will understand customer instrumentation requirements and collaborate with engineering teams to develop proposals for project delivery. You will take full technical responsibility for activities and deliverables on assigned projects, act as the primary technical contact within your project team, and support the local sales team throughout the project lifecycle (from pursuit to closure).

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing project specifications and clarifying technical requirements.
  • Evaluating proposed solutions for analytical and flow measurement systems and advancing them to detailed design and engineering.
  • Assisting the Project Manager with technical interfaces and leading technical discussions with customers and end-users.
  • Performing basic and detailed engineering, including preparing engineering documents, data sheets, schematics, general arrangements, wiring diagrams, and calculations per project specifications.
  • Preparing and submitting engineering deliverables on schedule, adhering to Emerson's quality standards.
  • Drafting purchase specifications and RFQ documents for buy-out components/instruments.
  • Technically evaluating vendor quotations for compliance with specifications and documentation.
  • Supporting assembly, fabrication, and integration activities.
  • Providing support during internal testing and customer FAT.
  • Preparing key documents such as P&ID diagrams, system architecture, design basis, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Developing detailed engineering documents like cable schedules, junction box wiring, instrument hookup drawings, IO lists, and utility consumption reports.
  • Reviewing and approving panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
  • Performing calculations such as flow meter sizing, control valve sizing, stress analysis, and lag time calculations.
  • Preparing datasheets for flowmeters, sampling systems, control valves, transmitters, gauges, flow computers, junction boxes, and power distribution units.
  • Drafting functional design specifications, FAT/SAT procedures, and operation manuals.
  • Participating in 3D model reviews, HAZOP/HAZID studies.

Requirements:
  • Familiarity with international oil and gas measurement standards (ISO, AGA, API MPMS).
  • Knowledge of analyzer operation principles and sample conditioning system design.
  • Understanding of hazardous area classification standards (ATEX, IEC, NEC).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication, multitasking, and self-motivation skills.
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems.
