About The Role

Offshore/Onshore Technician

Permanent, Full-time

Job Purpose

As a Technician at James Fisher Offshore Malaysia, you will perform your duties both in the workshop onshore and offshore. The role requires flexibility to cover public holidays and weekends, either locally or abroad.

Role And Responsibilities

1. Be versed in decommissioning operations, diesel engines, operation, and maintenance, especially on vessels.
2. Inspect equipment and evaluate maintenance, repair, or rebuild needs.
3. Perform servicing, maintenance, and repair on company or client-owned equipment as instructed.
4. Prepare equipment for testing procedures.
5. Ensure equipment is returned in good condition and fit for purpose, minimizing repair costs and downtime.
6. Work offsite on client premises, vessels, or offshore facilities, including commissioning, operating, maintaining, and repairing lifting and associated equipment.
7. Select suitable equipment from stock as requested.
8. Spool umbilical and wire rope in a controlled manner as required.
9. Complete all documentation promptly and accurately, maintaining an auditable trail and compliance with QHSE standards.
10. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
11. Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures, and identify areas for improvement.
12. Use appropriate PPE according to company policies.
13. Perform other delegated responsibilities as instructed by management in a safe and efficient manner.

Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of mechanical features such as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Minimum certification in Mechanical, Aviation, or Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to read schematic drawings.
• Proficiency in English communication.
