We manage outsourced logistics (warehouse) units within a dynamic, innovative, and technology-driven environment.

To expand our logistics business in South and South-East Asia, we are strengthening our team in Port Klang, Malaysia.

About the job

Supply Chain Operations (SCO) connects our customers with IKEA products through optimized transport and logistics solutions, including replenishment, capacity planning, sourcing, and quality management.

As a Business Developer, you will ensure business objectives align with strategic directions and develop high-performing logistics service providers to meet current and future needs. Your role involves optimizing the value chain to offer better products and services at lower costs, reaching more customers.

Your key tasks include:

  1. Relationship and performance: Managing business with selected service providers, developing effective relationships to ensure performance based on shared values, trust, and transparency.
  2. Development of business & SPs: Challenging and supporting SPs to improve performance, competitiveness, and explore new business opportunities like innovative networks, alternative fuels, digitalization, etc.
  3. SP portfolio: Identifying and proposing new SPs based on long-term needs, participating in SP classification, and guiding their development through the Service Provider Development Plan.
  4. Business and cost development: Identifying opportunities, participating in tenders, and supporting cost-down initiatives to improve performance criteria.
  5. Market intelligence: Keeping updated on market trends, industry developments, legal/regulatory changes, and sharing insights internally.
  6. Action plan & projects: Developing yearly action plans with SPs and leading sourcing projects as applicable.
  7. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to Frame Agreements, legal, security, and financial standards.
  8. IKEA Ambassador: Representing IKEA externally, promoting our values and business approach.

Qualifications include deep industry knowledge, experience with external partners, negotiation and project management skills, strong communication, legal understanding, and fluency in English. A university degree in logistics, economics, or business administration, or equivalent experience, is required.
