To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking for a Test Engineering Assistant Manager located in Flex PTP.

Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineering Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing procedures, strategies, systems, components, and modifications. Acts as an advisor to the test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations, and liaises with other engineering functions. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

What a typical day looks like:

• Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in the fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
• Coordinates electronic engineering activities related to development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required for testing, telemetering, and recording test data.
• Defines testing conditions, sequences, and phases of test operations.
• Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation, or coding issues.
• Evaluates and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering and management personnel.
• Develops or utilizes computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
• Trains and instructs floor support, test technicians, and test operators on test hardware and software, as well as problem-solving techniques.
• Resolves test yield problems by evaluating root causes, developing corrective actions, and monitoring improvements.
• Coordinates all activities and testers during each testing phase of a project or program.
• Maintains awareness of testing alternatives to select the most effective testing strategies.
• Assesses and advises on the practicality of testing process alternatives.
• Identifies process improvements and assists in their implementation.
• Ensures risks associated with test strategies and system test plans are documented and communicated.
• Manages testing risks and takes preventative actions when risks become unacceptable.
• Plans and manages meetings, workshops, and relations with client/user staff during test planning and development activities.

Desired experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience, including supervision in test engineering within the high-tech electronics industry or related areas.
• Test engineering background/experience required.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic, Excel mastery, and C++.
• Hands-on experience in Yield Loss improvement and control.
• Experience in server management.
