We're seeking an experienced software engineer to lead infrastructure efforts at secunet's Software Factory.

Location: Any secunet Location
Travel: Occasional travel required

The Software Factory is secunet's innovation program, focused on developing new product classes through cutting-edge, security-focused shared components and a DevSecOps platform supporting the entire product lifecycle. This dynamic team offers exciting challenges and growth opportunities.

This role combines software and systems engineering to build and operate IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include monitoring system capacity and performance, ensuring reliability and uptime, and driving improvements through automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, extend, and improve our infrastructure continuously
• Ensure comprehensive observability across all services (visualization, alerting, log aggregation)
• Design, build, and manage Nix build infrastructure
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners
• Align strategies with secunet's internal IT
• Document infrastructure and development processes
• Ensure security of our services using modern technologies

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience in architecting and managing on-premises deployments
• Extensive expertise with the NixOS ecosystem
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
• Proven contributions to open source projects
• Programming experience in Rust, Python, Go, or similar languages
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across teams

• Familiarity with German language is advantageous but not required
