Job description

At least 8 years of working experience in performing full sets of accounts with tax experience in a related field, especially from a Property Development background, is required for this position. Preferably, candidates should have experience working for the Big Four audit firms.

Good command of written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English is required; the ability to converse in a third language is preferred.

Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations is essential.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage the full set of accounts, maintain and update financial records, including GL entries, AP, AR, and payroll transactions during month-end and year-end closing.
2. Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments, ensuring assets and liabilities are accurately monitored in the ledger by reconciling control accounts and resolving discrepancies.
3. Generate and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) to provide accurate and timely financial information to management. Provide data analysis and report on the financial performance and position of the organization.
4. Review and analyze expenses, identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
5. Stay updated and compliant with financial regulations and standards.
6. Handle all accounting activities, including purchase orders, invoices, payments, and taxation.
7. Maintain client account statements.
8. Ensure proper record-keeping of all progress payments.
9. Liaise with bankers, auditors, and government authorities regarding finance and accounting issues.
10. Represent the company on taxation matters and support litigation issues.
11. Plan and prepare the company's cash flow and requirements, including working capital.
12. Perform treasury duties such as cash management, financial risk management, banking relations, capital structure management, and loan applications.
13. Manage intercompany accounts within the Alpha Galaxy Group of Companies.
14. Assist in calculating the cost of various financial instruments and the overall cost of capital for the organization.
