About The Role
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Ensure facility and building systems meet applicable standards.
- Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
- Assist in implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated lifespan. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Review inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation within design specifications and environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex tasks and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach colleagues and share knowledge within the job discipline and across related disciplines.
- Lead by example, demonstrating behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values, and work to build consensus and agreement.
- Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and other related teams.
- Operate within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain complex or sensitive information clearly.
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of experience managing facilities for an industrial site. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to consider new perspectives on existing solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Mathematical skills to handle mildly complex calculations such as percentages, fractions, and financial figures.
