About the job:

As the CEO of the Company,you will lead a premier private healthcare facility within the network, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and a culture of innovation and patient-centered care. You will be accountable for the hospital’s financial sustainability, clinical quality, and market leadership, ensuring alignment with Healthcare’s mission to revolutionize healthcare delivery in Malaysia and the region.

Job Requirements

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and execute the hospital’s strategic plan, aligning with Healthcare’s group objectives and Malaysia’s healthcare trends.
  • Spearhead Centres of Excellence (e.g., Oncology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Women & Children’s Health) to enhance differentiation and revenue.
  • Identify growth opportunities, including mergers/acquisitions and partnerships
  • Collaborate with the Stakeholders on group-wide initiatives and investments.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with MOH, PHFSA, JCI/MSQH, and patient safety standards.
  • Implement digital health solutions (e.g., AI diagnostics, telemedicine, EMR) to optimize workflows and patient experience.
  • Drive service excellence through KPIs (bed occupancy, patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes).

Financial Stewardship

  • Manage P&L, budgeting, and cost control while maintaining premium service standards.
  • Develop new revenue streams (wellness programs, executive health, international patient packages).
  • Monitor EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization), cash flow, and ROI on capital investments (e.g., medical equipment, facility upgrades).

Talent & Organizational Culture

  • Lead a high-performance executive team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and compassion.
  • Attract and retain top-tier medical specialists and administrative talent.
  • Promote continuous learning and staff development aligned with hospital growth.

Stakeholder & Brand Management

  • Strengthen ties with government bodies, insurers, corporate clients, and referring physicians.
  • Elevate the hospital’s brand reputation through PR, community outreach, and CSR initiatives.
  • Represent the hospital in industry forums and policy discussions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or Medicine (MD) or relevant.
  • Experience: 10+ years in senior leadership within private healthcare
  • Proven success in hospital operations, financial turnaround, and service expansion.
  • Exposure to medical tourism, digital health, and hospital start-ups/transformations.

Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Deep expertise in Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act (PHFSA), MOH guidelines, JCI (Joint Commission International) and MSQH (Malaysian Society for Quality in Health) Accreditation, PDPA.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and stakeholder management.
  • Fluency in English & Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages Mandarin are a plus.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in hospital expansions, greenfield projects, or operational turnarounds.
  • Passion for digital innovation (e.g., smart hospitals, predictive analytics).
  • Commitment to equity, compassion, and clinical excellence.
