THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence for our home textile manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for driving profitability and achieving production goals through efficient management of all aspects of the production process. This includes optimizing resource utilization, ensuring product quality, and fostering a high-performing team environment.

MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Production Leadership & Optimization

• Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand and ensure on-time delivery.
• Oversee all aspects of production with a focus on efficiency, quality, and safety compliance.
• Monitor production KPIs and take corrective action to resolve inefficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing and cost reduction efforts.
• Ensure consistent and timely delivery of high-quality products.

Supply Chain & Procurement Management

• Oversee procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables at competitive prices.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Optimize inventory control to reduce carrying costs and prevent production disruptions.
• Align procurement plans with production schedules in collaboration with the Production Planning team.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing production team.
• Foster a safe, engaging, and positive work culture that supports employee well-being.
• Design and implement training programs to upskill production staff.

Financial Performance & Accountability

• Develop and manage the production budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Monitor and analyze production costs; identify opportunities for savings.
• Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate cost accounting and reporting.
• Implement initiatives to improve operational profitability and reduce waste.

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and security within the plant.
• Promote a strong safety culture in line with Occupational Safety, Health & Environment (OSH&E) and operational standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety policies and regulations.

Engineering & Maintenance

• Work with Engineering & Maintenance to maintain equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Support the adoption of automation and new technologies to increase productivity.

Continuous Improvement

• Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the production team.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve operational challenges and improve workflows.
• Stay updated on industry trends and integrate innovations to maintain competitiveness.
