Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems to ensure the production of high-quality products. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of quality assurance engineers and technicians, conducting and facilitating audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the quality assurance system, including developing and establishing quality standards such as SOPs, work instructions, guidelines, and forms.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's quality management system in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, UN Mark certification, and RBA standards.
- Collaborate closely with production, sourcing departments, and suppliers on quality-related matters.
- Identify and mitigate quality risks, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions using tools like 8D reports.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance, conduct supplier audits, and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
- Lead and support NPI projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Develop and monitor calibration programs for measurement devices.
- Create and deliver training programs on quality standards and procedures to staff.
- Have the authority to stop production in case of non-conformance materials.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in product quality or related areas.
- Experience in industrial packaging, thermoforming, injection molding, extrusion, and knowledge of E&E or Semiconductor industries.
Languages
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Chinese and other languages are advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and business documents.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive attitude.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, UN certification, RBA, or Code of Conduct is preferable.
