Job Summary:

The Procurement Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services in line with company policies and cost objectives. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of quality products, maintaining accurate procurement records, and supporting budgeting and inventory management processes. The Procurement Executive plays a key role in optimizing supply chain efficiency and contributing to cost savings initiatives.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Identify reliable suppliers and maintain vendor relationships
  2. Request and evaluate quotations to ensure cost-effective purchases
  3. Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules
  4. Issue purchase orders and track delivery timelines
  5. Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs
  6. Conduct product research, sourcing & evaluate potential suppliers & vendors mainly from China according to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P).
  7. Compare and evaluate quotations & offers from multiple China suppliers.
  8. Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
  9. Track orders, deal with import & freight forwarder agents, and ensure timely delivery.
  10. Review the quality of purchased products regularly.
  11. Record data (e.g., vendors, quantities, prices) to develop internal databases.
  12. Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis.
  13. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure products are well received at the site and properly stored.
  14. Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, liaising with vendors)
  • Solid analytical skills, able to develop cost analyses, with knowledge in stock inventory control
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fields
  • At least 2 years of experience in the related field; fresh graduates with a good work attitude are welcome
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing Mandarin is required due to the nature of work
Preferred Qualities:
  • Proactive and solution-oriented attitude
  • Familiarity with the mining or heavy industries is an added advantage
