Job Description

The Reference Data Specialist is responsible for executing client deliverables, coding, and data input validation, focusing on specific industries or categories (e.g., Beverages, Food, Health and Beauty Products). This role involves creating and delivering accurate client outputs in a timely manner. The position supports the Taiwan market, so proficiency in Traditional Chinese is mandatory.

  • Responsible for executing client deliverables, coding, and data input validation within specific categories.
  • Perform cross coding and quality checks on items daily.
  • Act as a backup to other coders when needed; conduct physical store checks to validate item information.
  • Maintain documentation of special instructions related to category assignments.
  • Plan and manage daily workload to meet departmental and company schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy throughout the process, from validation to database setup, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Respond to external inquiries and liaise with clients and stakeholders to resolve data, process, or product issues.
  • Be willing to undergo training to become a category expert.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of experience in data or operational roles are welcome.
  • Experience in FMCG or as an encoder is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Passionate about data with high accuracy, proactivity, analytical skills, and logical thinking.
  • High accountability and ownership.
  • Eager to learn and grow.
  • Proficiency in Excel is mandatory; knowledge of SQL, R, or Python is advantageous.
  • Proactive in voicing opinions and sharing ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin; proficiency in Traditional Chinese (reading and typing) is mandatory.
