A leading company in Malaysia seeks a Purchasing Executive to manage supplier negotiations, inventory levels, and vendor performance. The role requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
The Purchasing Department is responsible for acquiring the goods and services necessary for the efficient operation of the business. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for various tasks, including:
1. Negotiating with suppliers on pricing, terms, and conditions of sale.
2. Reviewing bids received from suppliers and making decisions for potential purchase orders based on factors such as price, quality, delivery terms, and other factors.
3. Managing inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing costs.
4. Formulating and driving a consistent approach towards group sourcing and supply.
5. Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
6. Reviewing purchase orders and related documents to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
7. Liaise with key stakeholders to evaluate vendor performance.
8. Analysing data to propose changes to purchasing procedures that improve efficiency or reduce costs.
9. Prepare reports and presentations for management when necessary.
10. Any ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time.
