About the role

Polyware Sdn Bhd is seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead their operations in Ipoh, Perak. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the business, ensuring its sustained growth and profitability. This is a full-time position based in Ipoh.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

1. Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure production targets are met.

2. Implement and monitor production schedules, staffing plans, and equipment utilization.

3. Ensure products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards.

Leadership & Team Development:

1. Lead, mentor, and manage department heads and production staff.

2. Foster a high-performance culture with accountability and continuous improvement.

3. Oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations of staff.

Strategic Planning:

1. Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company objectives.

2. Identify opportunities for expansion, process improvements, and cost reduction.

3. Execute & actualize company yearly objective.

4. EBITA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, and Amortization) performance improvement.

5. Man power contribution performance.

Budgeting & Financial Oversight:

1. Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.

2. Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.

3. Sales revenue performance vs productivity growth.

4. Conduct continuous improvement activity vs cost efficiency.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

1. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).

2. Oversee quality control systems and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).

Supply Chain & Inventory Management:

1. Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics to optimize material flow and inventory control.

2. Maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships.

Reporting & Communication:

1. Report key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress to executive leadership.

2. Communicate effectively across departments to align goals and activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Operations Management, or a related field.

8+ years of progressive experience in sales, operations, or general management roles.

Proven leadership and team management experience.

Strong business acumen and analytical skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience in [industry-specific experience, e.g., manufacturing, logistics, retail] is a plus.
