About the role

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Clerk to join our team at WONG-CHOOI & MOHD NOR (BUKIT MERTAJAM) in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. As a Conveyancing Clerk, you will be responsible for providing legal support and assistance in the preparation and processing of various conveyancing transactions and documentation. This is a full-time position within our growing law firm.

What you'll be doing

  • Drafting and reviewing conveyancing documents such as sales and purchase agreements, transfer deeds, and loan agreements
  • Liaising with clients, real estate agents, and other parties involved in the conveyancing process
  • Conducting property and title searches, and preparing necessary documentation
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and timely completion of conveyancing matters
  • Maintaining accurate and organised records of all conveyancing transactions
  • Providing administrative support and assisting the legal team as needed

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Conveyancing Clerk or similar role within a law firm or legal department
  • Strong understanding of conveyancing laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Proficient in using legal software and databases
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Familiarity with the local property market and registration processes in Penang
