Job description

This job requires you to be in charge of the whole Finance department. You will be managing a team of close to 25 headcounts and reporting to the Executive Director.

Description

You will be in charge of:

  1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Vision: Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy, aligning with the corporate vision and objectives in Malaysia. Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial input on all major business decisions. Lead the development of long-term financial plans, including capital allocation, funding strategies, and profitability targets, considering Malaysian market dynamics. Analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor performance to identify opportunities and risks.
  2. Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with MFRS, Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, and other statutory regulations. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to local timelines and reporting standards. Manage tax planning and compliance for Malaysia, ensuring adherence to local laws. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards for listed companies.
  3. Treasury & Risk Management (Malaysia Focus): Oversee treasury functions including cash management, banking relationships, and foreign exchange risk. Develop financial risk management policies to mitigate risks such as interest rate, credit, and operational risks within Malaysia. Ensure adequate insurance coverage for assets and liabilities.
  4. Investor Relations: Act as a key contact for investors and analysts, communicating financial performance and outlook clearly and transparently, in accordance with Bursa Malaysia disclosure requirements. Build and maintain relationships with the investment community locally and internationally.
  5. Capital Markets & Corporate Finance: Evaluate and execute capital raising activities, including equity and debt financing, in compliance with Bursa Malaysia. Manage relationships with investment banks and financial institutions. Oversee mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, providing due diligence and valuation expertise.
  6. Internal Controls & Governance: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information, complying with best practices and local regulations. Adhere to the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.
  7. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team in Malaysia. Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and support professional growth.

Profile

You will be suitable for this role if you:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Possess a professional accounting qualification (e.g., MIA, ACCA, CPA).
  • Have 10-15 years of progressive senior finance experience, preferably within a publicly listed company in Malaysia.
  • Have a deep understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, and corporate governance regulations.
  • Have a proven track record in financial planning, analysis, reporting, treasury, risk management, and investor relations within Malaysia.
  • Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the board, management, investors, and regulators.
  • Possess strong business acumen and understanding of Malaysia's economic and political landscape.
  • Be proficient in ERP systems and advanced financial modeling skills.

Job Offer

You will be rewarded with an attractive monthly salary of RM 30,000 - RM 40,000.
