Job summary

A leading company in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Inspector-Of-Works to oversee high-rise projects in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The ideal candidate will coordinate with contractors and ensure compliance with construction specifications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Registered as Inspector-Of-Works (IOW) with BEM.
• At least 5 years of experience in supervision of architectural works.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractor constructs according to drawings & specifications.
• Inspect and monitor each stage of construction work.
• Coordinate with various contractors and consultants.

Ensure the contractor constructs according to construction drawings & specifications.

Coordinate with various contractors, consultants, & authorities on all site matters.

Inspect & monitor at all times each stage of construction work including piling, structural, architectural works, mechanical & electrical works, external works & infrastructure works.

Attend all site meetings & verify progress reports.

Coordinate with consultants and the project manager, highlight foreseeable problems for action, and ensure delivery of high-quality workmanship.

Any other duties assigned from time to time by management.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Architect Engineer or equivalent.
• Registered as Inspector-Of-Works (IOW) with the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM).
• At least 5 years of working experience in a related field, preferably in supervision of architectural works and high-rise projects.
• Preferable consulting office experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in written & spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in Mandarin is an added advantage.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Must possess own transport.
• Position available in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, with travel to other districts of Sabah.
