Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, or equivalent certification is mandatory.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and evolving startup environment.
- Agility and resilience to navigate financial and operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Business Planning
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to ensure financial feasibility.
- Optimize cash flow management, capital allocation, and cost efficiency.
- Provide data-driven financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Establish internal controls, risk management, and financial governance frameworks.
Cash Flow & Profitability Management
- Track and analyze cash flow, financial position, and profit & loss (P&L) statements to support business decision-making.
- Optimize profit or manage loss distribution effectively.
Cost Control & Project Budgeting
- Establish cost centers for each project to accurately track project expenses and financial performance.
- Provide financial forecasts based on project revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Ensure cost optimization strategies are in place to improve overall efficiency.
Taxation & Incentive Optimization
- Assess tax implications of products, including SST applicability and income tax impact.
- Ensure correct SST treatment for customers and implement corporate tax planning to optimize tax efficiency.
- Legally minimize tax liability while ensuring compliance with income tax, SST tax, tax reliefs, and non-taxable goods regulations.
- Ensure accurate accounting data entry and compliance with tax regulations.
- For Pioneer Status companies, properly segregate income and expenses into Pioneer and Non-Pioneer categories.
- Stay updated on Malaysia’s latest tax incentives, reliefs, and government grants to maximize financial benefits.
