Sales Manager, Cosmetic Ingredients (DACH) – Germany (Remote) - Mid-Sized Manufacturer

Irving Knight has partnered with a highly innovative and reputable Cosmetic Ingredient Manufacturer to identify a Sales Manager focused on the DACH region. My client is very well known for their Preservatives and Actives but boasts a portfolio of 300+ scientifically backed ingredients.

Interestingly, my client invests 4% of all revenue into R&D and releases six new ingredients per year on average, making them one of the most innovative companies on the market. They also have a 50/50 gender diversity split at management level.

This role will focus on growing the existing €2m business across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The position is fully remote with 30% travel across the region, managing two distribution partners. It offers a great opportunity for technical, professional, and personal growth, while representing a leading scientific manufacturer in the DACH region.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  1. Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving business growth across DACH with up to 30% travel.
  2. Utilize your product knowledge and sales experience to clearly communicate the value proposition.
  3. Sustain and improve customer service through innovative initiatives.
  4. Monitor industry changes, emerging markets, new products, and competitive landscapes.
  5. Participate in industry tradeshows and events as required.
  6. Represent your employer at conferences, industry events, and on social media platforms.
  7. Apply effective sales techniques when prospecting and communicating with potential customers.
  8. Guide prospects through the sales process to secure new business.
  9. Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, both in person and virtually.
  10. Arrange in-person customer visits with various company contacts.
  11. Address customer questions and concerns promptly and accurately.
  12. Send quotes and samples to customers as needed.
  13. Participate in new product launches, training, and joint sales efforts.
  14. Report customer issues, meetings, and opportunities regularly.
  15. Collaborate closely with product management, pricing, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

  1. A technical degree (BSc or higher) in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or similar is preferred.
  2. Proven success in acquiring new customers and driving sales, with measurable results.
  3. Minimum of three years' experience selling Cosmetic Ingredients within Germany and ideally the broader DACH region; seven or more years preferred.
  4. Fluency in English and German is essential; additional languages are a plus.
  5. Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability.
  9. Existing network within the Personal Care industry is advantageous.
  10. Willingness to travel more than 30% of the time.
