Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Professional to oversee all financial and accounting operations, ensure compliance with Malaysian regulations, and provide strategic input to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting standards, and the ability to optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements following US GAAP and IFRS; analyze financial variances and report to senior management; assist in preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  2. Accounting Operations: Manage internal accounting systems, including daily tasks such as accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger; reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts; ensure timely and accurate financial closings.
  3. Consolidation Accounting: Assist in consolidating financial statements for multiple entities; handle intercompany transactions and eliminations; adhere to consolidation standards.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support in preparing budgets and financial forecasts; monitor and analyze budget performance; contribute to strategic planning with financial projections.
  5. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors; ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations, including listing requirements for group companies; maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
  6. Use of Accounting Software: Utilize QuickBooks, Xero, or other software; set up and maintain systems; support staff training.
  7. Financial Strategy and Advisory: Provide strategic insights; analyze data for trends and improvements; collaborate across departments.
  8. Team Collaboration and Management: Work with team members for accurate reporting; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  9. Professional Development: Stay updated on standards and regulations; pursue ongoing learning.
  10. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in special projects, implement financial systems, lead budgeting, and support M&A activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA)
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience; experience with Big 4 firms is a plus
  • Proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS, including consolidation
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS accounting platforms like QuickBooks and Xero
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English (reading and writing)
