The Reliability Engineering Specialist – Stress Testing is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing technical feasibility checks and reliability stress tests for semiconductor products. This role involves collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with test requirements, timelines, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of reliability test methodologies, stress equipment operation, and continuous improvement practices to drive efficiency and innovation within the lab environment.
Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Plan and manage Technical Feasibility Checks on reliability projects with varying complexity and provide feedback to Lab Planners and clients.
- Coordinate stress setup and optimization activities with internal operations to achieve required stress conditions, prioritizing tasks according to project timelines.
- Communicate internally with Lab Planners and externally with test houses, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and milestones. Seek additional capacity within the Lab Cluster when demand exceeds current capacity.
- Resolve stress-related issues, monitor activities, and report on machine status, delays, and bottlenecks.
- Maintain, repair, modify, and optimize stress equipment, boards, tools, and online monitoring systems.
- Review and update documentation such as work instructions, specifications, and operational job task instructions.
- Lead equipment development, modification, and transfer activities. Develop and optimize methods and processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of reliability testing for products, technologies, materials, and process changes.
- Drive equipment and process adaptations to meet new requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects, YIP submissions, and problem-solving using 8D methodology. Share best practices within the team and cluster.
- Attend training sessions to develop relevant skills and bridge competency gaps.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives for continuous improvement and failure prevention within the engineering team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this role if you have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Microelectronics) with at least 5 years of experience, or a Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- At least 5 years of related experience with semiconductor reliability stress equipment, including knowledge of reliability test methodologies, standards, and equipment operation. Programming skills are a plus.
- Experience in setup, modification, and optimization of reliability equipment, including hardware, recipes, profiles, drivers, and stress boards. Knowledge of online monitoring systems and data capture is desirable.
- Familiarity with reliability system buy-off and release procedures, including use of T32 and REALIS.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor physics, packaging, wafer technologies, and electrical characteristics of semiconductor devices.
- Knowledge of reliability standards, test methodologies, and concepts for various product complexities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and interpret electronic schematics and circuitry, and repair stress equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
