Treasury & Chief Investment Office - Vice President

The Treasury and Chief Investment Office is responsible for delivering the firm’s strategic priorities across liquidity management, as well as managing structural interest rate and foreign exchange risks. It also handles wholesale funding, capital raising activities, and daily cash management. The group oversees funds transfer pricing policies and collaborates with various lines of business to establish fund valuation principles.

As a Vice President in the Treasury & Chief Investment Office team reporting to the Malaysia Treasurer, based in Kuala Lumpur, your main responsibilities include executing liquidity funding trades, assisting in securities management for regulatory and investment portfolios, and performing/reviewing Balance Sheet analytics. This involves booking trades, generating reports, liaising with back and middle office teams regarding cash positions, and supporting senior management with market updates and ad hoc reports for portfolio management decisions.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Manage daily funding and liquidity risk for the Malaysia subsidiary and related entities, including local currency, USD, and other active currencies within assigned limits.
  2. Assist in managing the securities portfolio for liquidity, regulatory, and interest rate risk management.
  3. Execute funding trades such as money market, repo/reverse repo, and FX with internal and external counterparties.
  4. Price and publish Funds Transfer Pricing for loans and deposits daily.
  5. Prepare and review liquidity-related reports, including liquidity coverage ratio, net stable funding ratio, liquidity limits, stress tests, daily market commentary, and RALCO materials.
  6. Support the Treasurer in coordinating front-office projects like balance sheet analysis and ad hoc queries.
  7. Estimate and report daily Profit & Loss.
  8. Collaborate with internal treasury functions and other teams across the firm, including LOB partners, FTP team, liquidity management, risk management, middle office, finance, and business management.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in treasury funding, liquidity, balance sheet management, or markets-related roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and governance to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to operate in a global environment, managing offshore partnerships.
  • Problem-solving skills with data and market trend analysis capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Financial Markets Association of Malaysia accreditation; if not held, completion is required.
