Job Overview

VET Sales Manager leads, oversees and directs the sales team to ensure sales targets are achieved through motivating, training, coaching and building of effective sales teams. Maximizes the growth and profitability of VET Channel.

Job Responsibilities

  • Defines the targets and business objectives of the sales team on a quarterly basis and ensures appropriate coaching and support is in place for the team to meet the targets; Ensures targets are met through consistent delivery of Net Sales Value (NSV) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Spends 50% of work time coaching and developing direct reports in the field by role modeling and ensuring SFE KPIs are met
  • Engages and motivates the sales team by appropriate team activities, sales challenges and regular one on one communication
  • Facilitates team’s continuous development by customizing individual development plan and providing opportunity to practice
  • Ensuring product knowledge and disease management knowledge are at par for the team members. Feedback and collaboration with Scientific Communication Manager for product/ medical training planning and monitor the progress of education execution to customers
  • Champions the use of Sales Automation Tool (RESCO) in order to bring efficiency in sales execution • Provides a monthly business review with immediate supervisor on the sales team and VET channel performance
  • Analyzes the territory’s potential and seeks for new sales opportunities to meet the target of account coverage rate, distribution rate and active account rate
  • Liaises with all internal stakeholders including Supply Chain Manager, Finance Manager and collaborates with different Pillar Heads
  • Efficiently manage key account(s) and develop joint business planning within the agreed budget
  • Performs pre- and post-evaluations on all major activities for the achievement of objectives (financial and operational) and acts on findings
  • Measures and communicates results proactively and shares “best practices” with other associates
  • Tracks sales on weekly (daily when necessary) basis and adjusts action plan to ensure sales objectives are met
  • Makes business review with Marketing/Key Accounts on regular basis to support the communication of promotional plan and ensures mutually valuable activities are in place
  • Supports resolution of customers’ complaints through direct action and collaboration with functional teams • Ensures compliance of company policies and practices (e.g. Travel Policy, BDM investment, trade terms etc.)

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business studies/administration/management, Commerce, Food Technology/ Nutrition/ Dietetics or equivalent
  • Experience working with leading pharmaceutical companies or within Fast Moving Consumer Good Industries
  • Familiarity with customer base (VETs) and working knowledge of recommendation model is a strong plus.
  • Fluent in both English & Bahasa Melayu (Knowledge of local dialects would be added advantage)
  • Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • At least 3 years of team management and 5 years in sales positions
  • At least 2 years working experience in FMCG/ Medical/ Pharmaceutical’s environment • Strong commercial and business acumen with good negotiation skills
  • An interest in pets / nutrition would be a plus
  • Possess valid driver’s license. Willing to travel
