About the role

At West Borneo Construction Sdn Bhd, we have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity and reporting for our growing construction company based in Kuching, Sarawak. This full-time position involves a range of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities to support our business objectives.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
3. Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
4. Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports.
5. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
6. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and controls.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting or reporting role, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, procedures, and best practices.
• Proficient in using accounting software, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.
