The Energy Division provides safe, sustainable products and services for two core markets, oil and gas and renewables.

This role sits within James Fisher Offshore Decommissioning who currently operate across Australia and APAC, JFO CFE operates in APAC (Indonesia, Taiwan, India).

The Role

The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful planning, design, execution, and completion of projects related to decommissioning projects that includes abrasive severance units, mechanical cutters.

Also, a transition into the upcoming CFE works in to the region, this includes ensuring projects meet all technical specifications, are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Plan, design, and oversee the implementation abrasive severance projects
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed engineering designs and specifications
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Working with the project manager prepare and present project reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and other external parties to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Conduct site inspections and project audits to ensure adherence to engineering standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials and services, ensuring technical requirements are met. Assist in Supply Chain Management in identifying potential vendors required for the project based on technical capabilities and cost
  • Facilitate the handover of completed projects to operations teams, including providing training and documentation as required.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Able to demonstrate experience in leading engineering teams through transmission outage programmes.
  • You will need the ability to solve complex technical problems, along with a history of innovative engineering solutions.
  • A relevant degree in engineering
  • Solid experience in the design, planning, and management of decommissioning projects
  • In-depth knowledge of decommissioning projects specifically in abrasive cutting units, standards, and best practices.
