Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing import/export operations.
  • Experience with LMW or duty-exempted factories is highly preferred.
  • Certifications in Import/Export, MIEx, or related professional bodies are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Import Operations

  • Manage applications for import duty exemptions such as LMW, CJ5, CJ5A, MIDA Tax Incentives.

  • Prepare and submit required import documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BL, COO, etc.).

  • Monitor customs clearance progress to ensure timely arrival of raw materials.

Export Operations

  • Apply for export-related documents including COO (Certificate of Origin), ePermit, and other licenses.

  • Arrange export declarations and container scheduling in line with customer delivery timelines.

Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs agents, suppliers, procurement, and warehouse teams.

  • Track shipment statuses and resolve any transport or customs clearance issues promptly.

System & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate import/export records, including HS Codes and customs documentation for audit purposes.

  • Prepare regular reports on trade activities for management and regulatory bodies (e.g. MITI, MIDA).

Compliance & Government Liaison

  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian customs laws, LMW regulations, and FTAs.

  • Communicate effectively with authorities such as Royal Malaysian Customs, MITI, MAQIS, etc.

Requirements

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing import/export operations.

  • Experience with LMW or duty-exempted factories is highly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Malaysian import/export systems: ePermit, DagangNet, eDeclare, MIDA Portal.

  • Familiar with application procedures involving MITI, MIDA, MAQIS.

  • Solid understanding of international trade documentation, Incoterms, HS Code classification, COO applications.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across internal departments and third parties.

  • Proficient in both English and Mandarin (written & spoken) for communication with Chinese suppliers and local authorities.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Import/Export, MIEx, or related professional bodies.

  • Experience in CJ5/CJ5A duty-free applications.

  • Familiarity with ISO systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and related documentation.
