Job description

Environmental Officer Job Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Provide advice to the management team on environmental regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Offer technical advice to the engineering and construction teams regarding the implementation of mitigation measures in the Environmental Management Plan (EMP). (Note: The contractor is not responsible for the EMP but performs auxiliary work.)
  • Adhere to all requirements stipulated in the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and associated regulations.
  • Assist the Employer in implementing and monitoring the EMP on site, and recommend any necessary amendments to monitoring and mitigation plans to the Environmental Consultant.
  • Supervise erosion and sediment control works on site as specified in LD-P2M2.
  • Update the Daily Site Logbook regularly.
  • Conduct site meetings every two weeks with the Project Proponent and Contractor.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices based on the "5S" concept (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) are implemented on site.
  • Conduct environmental awareness and induction briefings for new employees.
  • Limit project activities if potential or existing environmental issues are identified until they are rectified.
  • Ensure all work crews are inducted into project environmental procedures and are aware of any changes to the EMP or related procedures.
  • Maintain custody of all environmental documents and records.
Salary and Benefits

Monthly salary during internship: RM6500; after becoming a full-time employee: RM7000.

Salary includes meals, accommodation, office supplies, and personal computers are required.
