Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for product design & new development of mechanical equipment using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) and simulation software according to customers’ requirement
• Prepare designs reports by collecting, analyzing & summarizing information during design stage
• Translate customer’s requirement into design specification, evaluate design functionality & feasibility to meet customer’s request
• Prepare proposal and conceptual design based on the requirement and specifications given for customer to review
• Execute mechanical piece part design, mechanism design and module assembly process verification
• Evaluate and assure the design quality is up to expectation by reviewing customer process flow, product handling & assembly process
• Generate detailed drawings and assembly drawings for manufacturing, assembly & engineering works as well as preparing Bill of Material (BOM) list for parts purchase purposes
• Liaise with purchaser/supplier on parts & component sourcing and request for quotation and parts information
• Analyze test results and change the design as needed
• Prepare relevant calibration jig design for assembly as required
• Collaborate with Engineering team (e.g. Production, Software, Field Application team) in a proactive manner to support machine assembly and software programming activities
• Performed Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) or Extended Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (EFMEA) if required

Requirements and Qualifications

• Min 2 Years and above design experience in Automation Equipment Design.
• Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS is a MUST.
• Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design.
• Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers.
• Great computational and spatial ability.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Attention to Detail is IMPORTANT.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic or a similar field.
