Manager, Operations – Global Forwarding (Ocean & Air)

Hatch Asia is exclusively partnering with a global logistics and technology organization to identify a Manager of Operations. The Manager of Operations is a leadership position, responsible for overseeing a team that manages multi-modal transport operations. The role focuses on ensuring end-to-end process efficiency, service excellence, and strict operational compliance. The successful candidate will be expected to drive performance management, develop team capabilities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, all while ensuring that operational execution aligns with broader strategic business objectives.

The Challenges

  1. Lead and manage team performance: by setting clear roles, expectations, and goals aligned with productivity, quality, and service targets.
  2. Develop talent: through coaching, mentoring, and tailored development plans, while promoting an inclusive and transparent culture.
  3. Drive operational efficiency: by aligning daily operations with strategic goals, optimizing resource use, and refining processes to reduce inefficiencies.
  4. Monitor performance metrics: and ensure compliance with standard procedures and corporate policies.
  5. Lead change management: and support recruitment efforts to build a high-performing, diverse team aligned with organizational values.
  6. Foster strong stakeholder relationships: and collaborate across departments to support customer initiatives and technology-driven improvements.

What It Takes

  • Minimum of five years' experience in global forwarding (Ocean & Air) or logistics operations.
  • At least two years of leadership experience in managing teams.
  • Proven ability to travel as required based on operational needs.
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
  • Familiarity with operational excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
