Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Marketing and Business Development Executive to join our team in Asia Pacific. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the position will support the full range of marketing and business development strategies for our Malaysia practice. The focus is on attracting, retaining, and engaging clients. This role offers an opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic and expanding sector.

Our Asia Pacific Region

We provide end-to-end and advisory services for all immigration needs, with 12 partners and over 1,200 immigration professionals across 13 offices in Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Bengaluru, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Kochi, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Perth, Shanghai, Singapore, and Sydney.

The Team

The role involves close collaboration with our Director of Malaysia practice, the APAC Business Development Director, regional partners, immigration professionals, and the wider Marketing and Business Development team within the Fragomen network. Globally, this team comprises over 40 professionals dedicated to strategic marketing and business development to ensure excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify potential business opportunities with new and existing clients.
  2. Prepare partners and client-facing teams for pitch presentations and meetings.
  3. Support the pitch/RFI/RFP/RFQ process, including coordination and drafting assistance.
  4. Conduct market research and monitor industry, client, and competitor news.
  5. Develop effective client focus and retention strategies for the Asia Pacific region.
  6. Collaborate with global communications colleagues to develop social media strategies for the office and region.
  7. Manage logistics for internal and external client events, working with the events team.
  8. Identify profile-raising opportunities, including directory and award submissions.
  9. Implement business development plans aligned with organizational goals for Malaysia.
  10. Assist in creating and posting firm videos, blogs, and related content.
  11. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the region and firm.
  12. Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across teams.

Qualifications & Experience

We seek a motivated, conscientious team player with excellent communication and organizational skills. Essential qualities include curiosity, business acumen, flexibility, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while multitasking. The role may require periodic travel within the region.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a professional environment, preferably in immigration, legal, or professional services in a business development role.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships in Malaysia (including East and West Malaysia).
  • Proven ability to support and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce experience advantageous).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, resourceful, with excellent grammatical and proofreading skills.
