Job description

To lead and manage the entire Finance Department, covering Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Accounting (GA) functions. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in both operational finance and financial reporting, ensuring robust internal controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Retail industry experience is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Operations and Oversight
  2. Oversee daily operations across AP, AR, and GA functions.
  3. Ensure efficient financial workflows, payment cycles, and collection practices.
  4. Monitor cash flow and working capital to support operational needs.
  5. Lead month-end closing activities, including reconciliation and journal entries.
  6. Financial Reporting and Compliance
  7. Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  8. Ensure compliance with MFRS, MPERS, and relevant statutory requirements.
  9. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring minimal audit findings.
  10. Manage tax filing processes in collaboration with tax agents.
  11. Operational Finance Leadership
  12. Act as a finance business partner to operational and retail teams.
  13. Analyze store or branch profitability and support retail performance improvements.
  14. Provide real-time financial insights and cost control recommendations.
  15. Implement financial SOPs aligned with retail operations.
  16. Team Leadership and Development
  17. Lead, supervise, and develop a finance team of 6–7 staff.
  18. Set performance goals, provide coaching, and evaluate performance.
  19. Cultivate a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
  20. Process Improvement & Systems Enhancement
  21. Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and systems.
  22. Leverage accounting/ERP systems for automation and better reporting.
  23. Support system upgrades or new system implementation projects.
