An established industry player is seeking an Assistant/Engineering Manager specializing in Mechanical Design. This role involves preparing tender specifications, collaborating with sales teams, and leading engineering projects to ensure timely completion. Ø Prepare and develop tender specifications and cost estimates for mechanical design-related items to support tender and quotation activities.
Ø Collaborate with the sales team to secure new projects and communicate effectively with customers.
Ø Work with project teams and departments to gauge mechanical detail design of various projects, ensuring timely completion.
Ø Forecast and oversee engineering resource allocation for support on tenders and project execution.
Ø Review engineering work for technical accuracy, cost accuracy, and compliance with technical requirements.
Ø Provide technical leadership and enhance the competence of the detail engineering discipline.
Ø Supervise and lead a team of Senior and Junior Engineers; assign tasks and provide clear instructions.
Ø Identify and contact potential technology partners to enhance Tialoc's capabilities.
Ø Hire, supervise, train, and mentor new employees; determine staff training needs and talent development.
Ø Establish an Engineering Knowledge Database, including optimizing standards, formats, and the technical library.
Ø Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of mechanical engineering design, reduce project costs, and meet customer expectations.
Ø Attend and participate in trade shows and conferences; conduct site visits and evaluate supplier facilities.
Ø Maintain high-level expertise in the field.
Ø Perform any other tasks assigned by superiors.
Ø Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.
Ø Minimum 10 years’ experience with excellent knowledge in Process or Detail Design Engineering for ultrapure water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, or off-gas pollution abatement systems.
Ø Proven supervisory and technical skills.
Ø Expert-level knowledge of relevant technology and processes.
Ø Strategic and critical thinking skills for problem-solving.
Ø Detail-oriented with strong attention to details.
Ø Good knowledge of local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ø Ability to use presentation software effectively to explain engineering designs to customers.
Ø Mandarin speaking skills for effective communication with Chinese counterparts.
Ø A strong background in engineering design for industrial wastewater treatment, ultrapure water treatment, and off-gas pollution abatement plants is advantageous.
