The HR Enablement and Workforce Planning team is responsible for developing and delivering workforce solutions that support the HR community and organizational transformation.
The Director of HR Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing HR Operations, Service Delivery, and Operational excellence at Head Office. This role ensures seamless HR service execution, drives process efficiency, and fosters a high-performing HR team aligned with organizational goals. The Director will lead HR operational strategy, enhance service delivery frameworks, and champion HR best practices to support business objectives.
Principal Accountabilities:
- HR Operations
- Oversee end-to-end HR Operations, including payroll, benefit administration, compliance, employee data management, and HRIS optimization.
- Streamline HR processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and employee experience.
- Ensure Head Office HR services are delivered accurately, timely, and in line with company policies.
- Partner with senior HR leadership to align HR operations with business needs.
- HR Service Delivery Excellence
- Design and execute a best-in-class HR Service Delivery Model to support employees and stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to assess HR services effectiveness and implement improvements.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, such as HR automation and self-service tools.
- Resolve complex HR operational issues while maintaining compliance.
- HR Practice Leadership
- Act as the subject-matter expert for HR policies, procedures, and compliance, including statutory reporting and data privacy.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing HR operations best practices.
- Lead change management initiatives related to HR systems, policies, or organizational restructuring.
- Mentor and develop the HR operations team to promote professional growth and operational excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Talent Leadership, Learning, Compensation & Benefits, and other HR functions to ensure cohesive service delivery.
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, and Facilities teams to address people services challenges.
- Serve as the primary HR Operations liaison for senior leadership and external vendors.
Attributes & Experience Required:
- A Degree or Masters in Human Resources or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience in HR Operations/Service Delivery, with 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing head office or enterprise-wide HR services.
- Previous HR Shared Services experience.
- Proven success in leading high-performance teams and achieving results through others.
- Innovative thinking and experience leading transformative projects.
- Analytical skills to analyze data and inform business decisions.
- Stakeholder focus, including experience partnering with C-suite leaders.
- Conflict management and resolution skills.
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relationship-building skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of business planning and key metrics.
- Experience with agile strategies and HR technologies is advantageous.
