Role Description

This role is responsible for global procurement and inventory management of high-tech or life sciences production materials, including new product introduction (NPI) materials, obsolete parts, non-production materials, and services. It involves supplier evaluation, selection, and management, collaborating with R&D, Marketing, and Manufacturing to align supply chain strategies with business needs. The role may lead supply chain strategy development and implementation to optimize costs, inventory, supply assurance, and support for product development.

Supply Chain Management

The candidate will manage teams responsible for designing end-to-end supply chain solutions, including planning, logistics, financial flows, and business intelligence. They will develop strategies, forge third-party relationships, and lead initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and support business growth. External benchmarking and potential management of M&A supply chain integration are also part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct procurement activities such as supplier quotations, contract negotiations, purchasing, risk management, performance evaluation, safety stock, inventory, and business continuity planning.
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with organizational KPIs.
  • Assess and mitigate procurement risks.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify issues and propose improvements.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and projects to support organizational goals.
  • Manage small teams to achieve supply chain excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, evaluating performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Negotiate and review supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Leverage technology to enhance procurement functions and stay aligned with business transformations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics/Programming, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, supply chain management, or contract management.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain fundamentals, planning, and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership experience in managing small teams.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills with critical thinking ability.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and macros; experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Python, R, SQL, C+ is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and foster good working relationships.
