Head / Deputy Head of Engineering - Klang, Malaysia, Selangor - KAWAN FOOD BERHAD

The Head/Deputy Head of Engineering will be responsible for managing the Maintenance department, Facilities department, and Project department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Development

• Responsible for the overall engineering activities across the business.
• Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
• Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets.
• Take ownership of the engineering policies, guidelines and any associated documents.
• Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes.

General and Task Management

• Provide technical support to onsite engineering teams, estimations and business development related matters.
• Responsible for overseeing all aspects of build design, from contract award to handover.
• Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution.
• Work closely with Purchasing department to ensure all external contracts are regularly reviewed following company policies and guidelines, ensuring best value.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting on engineering activities.

Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the engineering strategy.

People Management

• Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to departments under control, and development of talents.
• Ensure strong communication between cross departmental teams to facilitate exchange of information, execution of activities and continuous improvements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor Degree in Engineering field.
• Minimum 3 yearsâ experience in the same capacity.
• Sound knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components and design techniques.
• Excellent relationship management and project management skills, with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets .
• Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems.
• Applicants must be willing to be based in Pulau Indah, Klang.
