The role involves managing procurement processes, supplier relationships, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations. We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Purchasing Manager for our newly established heavy machinery assembly factory in Seremban - Sendayan Techvalley, specializing in underground load & haul equipment.
The Load & Haul Division is home to Sandvik loaders and trucks for the underground mining business. We focus on safety, strength, and intelligence. As market leaders, we accelerate the development of diesel and battery-electric equipment, working closely with sales within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area to provide excellent service. Our Load & Haul operations are based in Turku, Finland, with additional locations in Camarillo, USA, Changzhou, China, and Seremban, Malaysia.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be managing and developing direct material purchases and operational processes at the Seremban factory. This includes maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring on-time delivery, managing inventory levels, and optimizing networking capital and material resource planning.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in supply chain management within heavy machinery assembly or manufacturing environments, proficient in SAP S/4 Hana and Ariba systems, familiar with regional supply bases, and experienced in dealing with local regulators. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, resourcefulness, and fluency in English are essential. A relevant technical or vocational degree is preferred.
