Job Description
Responsible for supervising and leading a team of technicians by coordinating daily activities, managing team performance, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Ensures the safety, efficiency, and productive operation of Quay Crane (QC) equipment.
Safe Working Environment
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, aiming for zero LTI, and promote safety culture within the terminal.
- Monitor and enforce all HSSE requirements during work activities.
Preventive Maintenance Deployment
- Coordinate shift preventive maintenance deployment.
- Propose and implement improvements to equipment for reliable performance.
Preventive Maintenance Supervision
- Supervise planned maintenance or repair works performed by technicians, contractors, or OEM.
- Ensure work completion according to schedule, procedures, and specifications.
- Supervise system testing and equipment inspections to confirm completion of scheduled activities.
- Troubleshoot systems as needed.
Preventive Maintenance Verification
- Verify that all maintenance and repairs meet quality standards.
- Review maintenance checklists prepared by technicians.
Preventive Maintenance Evaluation
- Analyze breakdown reports and address issues during maintenance.
- Collaborate with planners to review maintenance plan effectiveness, including tracking planned vs. actual work and backlogs.
RTG Reliability
Identify and monitor the reliability of improvement projects according to project milestones.
Technical Capability
- Assess training needs (Training matrix) for subordinates to enhance competencies.
- Provide on-the-job training for technicians as required.
Role Replacement
- Perform additional duties assigned by superiors to achieve departmental objectives.
- Cover the Duty Manager when necessary.
- Prepare and evaluate PMDS for subordinates.
- Prepare warranty claim reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent/relevant experience.
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with third parties such as contractors, OEMs, or consultants.
- Experience in both mechanical and electrical areas.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills for technical problem-solving.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Motivated, independent worker.
- Ability to manage a team of technicians.
- Resourceful, organized, and possess leadership qualities.
- Computer literacy; fluent in English and Malay (verbal and written).
- Strong reasoning, judgment, reporting, and registration skills.
