Job Description

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives in Malaysia.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and insights to the CEO and executive team for key business decisions.
  • Lead the development of long-term financial plans, including funding strategies, capital allocation, and profitability targets for Malaysian operations.
  • Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and competitor activities to identify risks and opportunities.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning for Malaysia.
  • Lead the FP&A team to deliver timely and insightful financial reports.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and track KPIs relevant to the Malaysian business.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with timelines and regulations.
  • Handle tax planning and compliance in Malaysia, ensuring adherence to local laws.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Treasury & Risk Management:

  • Oversee treasury functions, including cash management, banking relationships, and forex risk management.
  • Develop financial risk management policies suitable for the Malaysian environment.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage for assets and liabilities.

Internal Controls & Governance:

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering high performance.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build relationships with banks, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent the finance function in meetings with the executive team and board.

Profile Requirements

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience, leading a finance team of at least 5 members.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong leadership, motivation, and development skills.
  • Visionary, proactive, and willing to take calculated risks for growth.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify growth, cost-saving, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of current accounting standards.
  • Excellent reporting and organizational skills.

Compensation

Attractive package: RM 30,000 - RM 40,000 monthly.
