The Financial Controller is the Head of Finance for the Operating Company (Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd.)
- Provide leadership for core financial reporting functions, including management reporting, budgetary control, treasury management, internal control compliance, safeguarding the financial position, and people development for the finance team, which comprises reporting, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and internal control.
- Ensure the credibility of finance activities by providing timely and reliable analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Support the Operating Manager in strategic development for the organization and monitor the implementation of operational action plans.
- Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including Head Office, tax authorities, and other financial-related regulatory agencies.
- Oversee and participate in feasibility studies and due diligence for potential projects and investments, determining the financial benefits for the organization.
- Drive changes, lean management, and efficiency improvements.
- Promote and drive various Head Office initiatives and ensure the development of action plans with constant monitoring and progress reporting.
The candidate shall manage group policies, ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws, and should be knowledgeable in the following areas:
- Well-versed with computerized accounting systems in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL)
- Familiar with treasury and banking management
- Preparation of accurate and timely periodic accounts for management
- Familiar with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Familiar with group consolidation of accounts
Skills Required
- Candidates with professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA are encouraged to apply, with over 10 years of leadership working experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is also encouraged, but candidates should have relevant experience and skills to manage the financial performance of large organizations.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to plan, prioritize, and achieve performance goals; they should have good oral and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are essential. The role requires dealing with senior management within the Operating Company.
