LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager to support purchasing and supply chain management. Position Summary

The Assistant Purchasing Manager will support the management of all aspects of purchasing and supply chain for the Resort. The role requires close collaboration with the Senior Purchasing Manager to implement procurement initiatives and provide guidance to the team.

Responsibilities

  1. Advise staff and requestors on appropriate choices of standard items to purchase.
  2. Select vendors, place orders, and arrange service contracts.
  3. Review the work of purchasing agents.
  4. Communicate with executives and obtain approval for purchasing contracts with new vendors or supplies.
  5. Oversee supply chain management.
  6. Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  7. Maintain records of purchases, shipments, and related matters.
  8. Keep files of available supplies descriptions.
  9. Inspect received products for quality and quantity to ensure specifications are met.
  10. Compare product deliveries with purchase orders and contact vendors for discrepancies.
  11. Perform related duties and stay updated on industry developments and technologies.
  12. Maintain and update the procurement system according to company standards.
  13. Stay informed about industry trends and establish long-term vendor relationships when beneficial.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Professional Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related fields.
  2. At least 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing & Warehousing.
  3. Quick learner with strong product knowledge, sourcing skills, and experience in compliance-heavy environments.
  4. Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
