This job requires you to be in charge of Group Finance and Group Reporting. You will also be involved heavily in taxation and treasury. You will manage a team and assist the CFO with day-to-day ad hoc finance matters.

Job Title: Group Financial Controller - Listed Company

About The Role

The Group Financial Controller is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing financial control, reporting, compliance, and internal controls across a listed company and its subsidiaries. The role ensures the accuracy of financial information, compliance with accounting standards and regulations (including Bursa Malaysia), and provides strategic financial insights to senior management.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Consolidation:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of consolidated financial statements in accordance with MFRS and Bursa Malaysia regulations.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate consolidation of financial results from all subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and review complex accounting treatments and documentation.
  • Manage annual reports and statutory filings.

Accounting Policy & Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain group accounting policies in line with MFRS and best practices.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies across the group.
  • Stay updated on changes in standards and regulations and assess their impact.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls over financial reporting.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

  • Establish and maintain internal control frameworks.
  • Monitor and improve internal controls.
  • Coordinate with auditors and participate in risk assessments.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:

  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyze financial performance, variance, and provide insights.
  • Develop KPIs and support strategic decisions.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team.
  • Set performance expectations and support professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Profile

You are suitable if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; Master’s preferred.
  • Professional qualification (MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial control and reporting, especially in listed companies in Malaysia.
  • Deep knowledge of MFRS and Bursa Malaysia requirements.
  • Experience managing group financial consolidations.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting tools.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.

Job Offer

The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary of RM 25,000 to RM 28,000.
