Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. This role works within Securities Operations department which is part of Wealth Management Asia team. The department covers various processes such as Securities & Equity Derivatives Settlement, Corporate Actions & Life Cycle Management, Static Data, Asset Transfers & Funds Settlement and Fees & Regulatory Reporting.

The role is responsible for effective management of Securities Operations including timely and accurate end to end processing of Trade Settlements, Corporate Actions Events and Derivatives Life Cycle Management according to defined SLAs and handling queries from internal and external parties. And, to provide subject matter expertise around complex trade or security events requirements in support of Administrator processing requirements and responsibilities.

Working hours : 9.00am-6.00pm

What will you do?

  • To deliver the best client experience through timely and accurate end to end processing of Securities Operations & Corporate Action Events according to defined SLAs. Products covered: Equity, Fixed Income, Funds, Structured Notes, Equity Derivatives, Listed Options
  • Exhibit proficiency in managing complex post-trade processes, including asset servicing, securities events & settlement operations.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge to navigate through complex Voluntary Corporate Action Events including Rights Exercise, Tender Offer and Repurchase Offer etc.
  • Ensure that all transactions are processed in accordance with bank rule, circulars, procedures and local regulatory requirements.
  • Perform QI Tax reporting which include annual reconciliation and income reclassification
  • Manage stakeholders' requests and queries within stipulated timeframe
  • To supervise and provide necessary guidance/ training for team members to navigate through complex issues.
  • Exhibit a proactive commitment for continuous improvement through process reviews, error root-cause analysis & streamlining workflow to deliver better results.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify gap in current processes with downstream impact.
  • Participation in team/ department initiatives or projects as subject matter expert to promotes best-practice adoption, facilitating knowledge transfer & driving strategic enhancement in Securities Operations.
  • Keep risk management at the forefront of day-to-day activities by advocating implementation of controls and processes to mitigate risks.
  • Provide impact analysis and root cause analysis for any Operational Risk Events that may arise.
  • Participates in Audit review and ensure audit queries are attended promptly
  • Demonstrate clear understanding and adherence to WM escalation matrix/protocol

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience within relevant back-end operations. Experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management environment is an added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of global practices in relation to Securities/ Derivatives & Listed Options Market Settlements and Corporate Action Events.
  • Team player and possess strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Committed and responsible with a drive to ensure accuracy and completeness

Nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with Avaloq system, Omgeo CTM & Alert, DTCC, Prowide (SWIFT) and Bloomberg.
  • Well verse in Cantonese & Mandarin for communication with HK & SG Front Office.
