YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a world-class Engineering Manager to lead small to mid-sized teams developing our SaaS digital advertisement products, utilizing our ecosystem of NodeJS Microservices. Your focus will be on guiding and elevating Frontend and Backend Engineers through code reviews, task planning, and collaboration with Product Design, Management, and Architects to enhance quality and engineering culture.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Typescript and NodeJS, with additional experience in AWS, Kafka, and GraphQL being advantageous. The role involves hands-on work, mentoring, and leadership to improve team performance, quality, and reliability.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead cross-functional teams in developing complex features and services.
2. Remain hands-on to maintain technical expertise.
3. Mentor engineers and provide career guidance.
4. Collaborate to develop long-term engineering practices and tooling.
5. Ensure timely delivery of products, features, and services with clear updates and demos.
6. Participate in hiring processes, including screening and interviews.
7. Uphold coding standards through design discussions, testing, and code reviews.
8. Assist support and operations teams in resolving production issues.
9. Conduct 1:1s and performance reviews.
10. Develop high-performance, secure, and testable applications.
11. Recommend and implement process and technology improvements.
12. Stay informed of advancements in Node.js and AWS technologies.
13. Estimate workloads and review tasks for yourself and team members.

YOUR PROFILE

1. 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
2. 2+ years in engineering leadership, guiding high-functioning teams.
3. Ability to write maintainable, secure, and reliable code.
4. Strong communication skills for explaining complex concepts.
5. Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, etc.
6. Experience in strategic planning and architectural design across teams.
7. Proficiency in NodeJS with TypeScript and web frameworks.
8. Understanding of scalable application design and event-driven architectures.
9. Expertise in automated testing and best practices.
10. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
11. Strong project management and organizational skills.
12. Extensive mentoring experience in a respectful manner.
