Process Operator
We are currently recruiting for a Process Operator to join our global client based in Basildon. This is a great opportunity to join an experienced team in a well-established local company.
The purpose of the operator is to produce batches of high-quality products by operating machinery within the clean room, hand packaging, and relabelling lines. The process integrates all stages of production—from initial planning to final output—while incorporating control measures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality checks to maintain standards and ensure consistency.
You will be required to perform a wide range of duties including:
- Responsibilities:
- Follow GMP and GDP procedures at all times.
- Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assist with setting/checking of production machinery.
- Record information and data during production phases accurately.
- Complete all batch paperwork correctly.
- Work safely and report any health and safety issues.
- Query deviations from SOPs, GMP, and GDP with the team leader.
- Work with the team leader and quality department to ensure timely production start and completion of checks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of production systems and procedures.
- Understand the impact of errors on the production line.
- Complete transactions using the company's SAGE computer system.
- Carry out ad hoc duties as required.
Accountabilities:
- Perform in-process checks to ensure machinery operates optimally.
- Maintain and clean machinery and production areas ('clean downs') after each batch.
- Control start-up and shut-down duties of machinery and the production environment.
- Observe machinery to ensure conformance to quality standards.
- Report problems or deviations immediately to prevent incorrect packaging.
- Prepare packaging documentation according to SOPs.
- Check packaged products for correct boxing and labelling.
- Accurately complete batch reconciliation and follow proper recording procedures.
- Complete tasks accurately and promptly.
- Follow GMP, GDP, and SOPs to ensure work is done correctly and safely.
- Wear the correct PPE at all times.

Job Details:
- Type: Permanent
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm (40 hours/week)
- Location: Basildon, Essex
- Salary: £25,400 PA, rising to £26,072 PA after 6 months
