Job Description

The Reference Data Specialist is responsible for instructing client deliverables, coding, and data input validation, focusing on specific industry/category sets (e.g., Beverages, Food, Health and Beauty Products). As a Reference Data Specialist at NielsenIQ, you will create and deliver client outputs accurately and timely. This role supports the Taiwan market, so proficiency in Traditional Chinese is mandatory.

• Responsible for client deliverables, coding, and data input validation within specific categories.
• Perform cross coding and quality checks on items daily.
• Act as a backup to other coders when needed; conduct physical store checks to validate item information.
• Maintain documentation of special instructions related to category assignments.
• Manage your daily workload to meet departmental and company schedules.
• Ensure accuracy from validation to database setup, identifying areas for process improvement.
• Respond to external queries and coordinate resolutions related to data, processes, or products, liaising with clients and stakeholders.
• Willing to be trained as a category expert.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of experience in data or operations are welcome.
• Experience in FMCG or as an encoder is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Passion for data, with high accuracy, proactivity, analytical skills, and logical thinking.
• High accountability and ownership willingness.
• Eager to learn and grow.
• Proficiency in Excel is mandatory; knowledge of SQL, R, or Python is advantageous.
• Proactive, willing to share opinions.
• Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills; proficiency in Traditional Chinese (reading and typing) is mandatory.
