Group Legal Counsel (Remote Workplace Option)

Manage legal and compliance matters within the group, including operating entities in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines:

1. Draft, vet, and negotiate agreements and other documents for commercial transactions;
2. Manage external lawyers engaged for litigation and projects;
3. Identify and communicate legal compliance risks to stakeholders, monitor compliance with laws and regulations, and advise on controls for risk mitigation.

Drive:

1. Strategies and initiatives to promote legal compliance and governance within the group;
2. Department process improvements, including template agreements, training conduct, and policies and SOP establishment and implementation;
3. Department management, including leading preparations for the Group Legal monthly meetings;
4. Consistency and alignment in legal principles and standards across all group entities.

Lead data collection and report collation for Executive Committee and Board reporting.

Administer the Group Legal SharePoint Portal and promote its adoption among Country Legal Counsels and stakeholders to ensure proper recordkeeping of legal documents.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Recognized Bachelor’s Degree or professional degree in law.
• Minimum 8 years of legal work experience.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and proactively manage projects.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese; Mandarin communication skills with Taiwan and China counterparts are an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proactive, organized, meticulous, passionate, and with high integrity.
• Highly disciplined, thrives in flexible work arrangements, and consistently delivers results with minimal supervision.
