The Finance Executive is responsible for maintaining and optimizing financial, administrative, and accounting services within the organization while ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements and corporate policies.
Scope of responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, tax forecasts, balance sheets, and monthly profit reconciliations, ensuring alignment with local laws and tax regulations.
- Lead the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of annual budgets, including variance analysis, while maintaining proper documentation and supporting year-end audits and stock audits.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, well-documented, and consolidated in accordance with internal procedures and statutory requirements.
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting processes including accounts payable and receivable, external provider invoicing, payments to interested parties, and bank reconciliation.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, bank statements, exchange rates, and ensure the security of all credit card and online payment transactions.
- Maintain and update computerized accounting systems, ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policies.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities to ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, including timely tax submissions and financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain internal controls, financial procedures, and audit readiness to support accurate, lawful, and efficient financial operations.
- Monitor and ensure proper documentation, tracking, and accounting of company assets, spare parts, consumables, and investments to support effective financial planning and decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support strategic decision-making by the Plant Manager and Head Office, including participation in business expansion plans.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing financial systems, enhancing processes, and maintaining efficient filing systems and workplace organization (5S).
- Actively participate in company projects, campaigns, and other assigned duties to support overall business operations and objectives.
Authority:
- Authority in cash management and financial control.
- Authority to allocate funds into profitable ventures to ensure safety on investment and regular returns where possible.
- Authorize valid payments to external providers and request management approval.
- Request necessary documents for financial report preparation.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Accounting / LCCI Higher / Professional Certificate or higher qualification.
- Experience in accounting within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical skills, able to handle challenging tasks independently under tight deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and experience with accounting software.
Reporting:
Reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Subject to an annual performance review and professional development evaluation.
